Kaala Doriya Episode 25: It’s Time For Family Reunions As This Drama Nears Its End

“Kaala Doriya” has been winning the hearts of audiences for the past few months, despite the limited promotion from Hum TV itself.  Raking in millions of views per episode, “Kaala Doriya” could also be recognized as the best script from Saima Akram Chaudhry and Danish Nawaz.  While this duo has presented great shows in the past together, particularly “Chupke Chupke” and “Hum Tum,” it’s with “Kaala Doriya” that we feel most attached to the characters and truly understand where they are coming from.  With only one episode to go, “Kaala Doriya” moves towards the finish line.  Starring Osman Khalid Butt, Sana Javed, Zainab Qayyum, Nadia Afgan, Sohail Sameer, Farhan Ali Agha, Khalid Malik, Samina Ahmed, Khaled Anum, Tamkinat Mansoor and others.

In episode 25, Shuja (Sohail Sameer) finally realizes his own mistakes, put in his place by his mother, Tabassum (Samina Ahmed).  She bluntly makes it known that Shuja has been the problem all along, stealing from  his younger brother and causing the rift in their relationship.  She is a mother after all and wants her son to realize his mistakes – and wants to stop him from repeating them with his own daughter and her happiness.  The way Shuja’s demeanor has changed in the past few episodes is highlighted through Sohail Sameer’s performance and we, as an audience, can see the wheels turning in his head.  He not only realizes his own faults, but is also grappling with the thought of losing Mahnoor (Sana Javed) the same way he lost Nida (Adla Khan).  In a happy turn of events, Shuja visits Munna (Farhan Ali Agha) and asks him to accept Mano as his daughter-in-law.  This entire exchange is ridiculously sweet – and realistic.  At the end of the day, no matter how much family may fight, it’s rare that the fight is desired.  Munna and Shuja are equally relieved to put the entire argument behind them – as are Tanno (Nadia Afgan) and Saleeqa (Zainab Qayyum).

If there’s one member of the family who is not enthusiastic, it’s Nida.  And honestly, why would she be happy?  While Nida has been irritating viewers in the past few episodes with her meddling in Asfi’s (Osman Khalid Butt) love life, it’s  here that we can truly understand what Nida is going through.  Nida has been disowned by her family for standing by her husband and what she saw as being “right.”  Meanwhile, Mano’s desire to marry Asfi is enough for the family to put their entire fight to rest.  Is Mano more important than Nida?  This is the internal dilemma Nida is experiencing at the moment – and can we blame her?  Adla Khan is so sweet in this role.

Honestly, this entire ensemble cast is so wonderful to watch and it’s genuinely a sad moment to think about the show ending next week.  The preview for the final episode promises more drama, particularly with Mano putting down her own demands for marriage.  It’s actually nice to see Mano’s concern for her family.  Mano and Nida do not have a brother and so Mano is worried about her parents being alone.  It is applause-worthy to see this angle being discussed in a drama, as this is a part of Pakistani culture that rarely gets discussed.  Why do women have to abandon their parents after marriage?  And while we already know how the situation will be dealt with at the end, it’s commendable to see it discussed on screen.  The wait for the final episode is highly awaited, but will also be bittersweet.
