7 Pakistani Stars Who Got Married During Covid-19

Months go into preparing for a full-fledged wedding. From locking in dates and deciding on outfits to running around sorting cards and venues, families of the bride and groom are swamped with necessary duties just before the big day. 2020 turned out to be a rather uncertain and dreadful year following the coronavirus outbreak across the world. The pandemic has lasted almost over 11 months and still shows no signs of slowing down or going away (we wish!) anytime soon. Hence, the best thing engaged couples are doing is tying the knot in intimate ceremonies, alongside close friends and family. Here are Pakistani showbiz stars who got married during lockdown and made the most of every moment.

1.Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir

The duo went ahead with their original plans of a destination wedding in Abu Dhabi, since their events took place in the initial days of the coronavirus outbreak. The festivities took place at the Zaya Nurai Island, with their nearest and dearest in attendance. Following a small engagement in June 2019, #Sahad tied the knot in March 2020. Images from their special day went viral on the internet, with fans swooning over one of Pakistani cinema’s leading couples. So much love!

2. Samina Ahmed and Manzar Sehbai

The veteran Pakistani actors got married in an intimate ceremony on April 4, 2020, with the entire country celebrating their joyous moment on social media. Both stars – the dada from Alif and Suno Chanda’s Beejaan – truly defined ‘Age is just a number’ when they tied the knot earlier this year, at the age of 70. “We know we look good together, I’m glad everyone and you know it too!” Sehbai said during a talk show earlier. Couple goals all the way!

3. Nimra Khan and Raja Iftekhar Azam

The TV actress was all smiles after signing her Nikkah papers in April this year. While she spoke about her now-husband Raja Iftekhar Azam on multiple occasions, it wasn’t until their wedding day that we saw pictures of them together for the first time. They hosted a fairly small event for their happily ever after!

4. Hina Altaf and Aagha Ali

News of their marriage sent shockwaves across the country, primarily because the latter was in a serious relationship with actor Sara Ali Khan that eventually fizzled out. The love birds got married on May 23, 2020, amid close relatives and friends. Ali’s Instagram post for his ladylove was filled with the most adorable words. It read, “A few years ago we hosted a TV show together and we hated each other, later met a couple of years ago again and we became friends, then became best friends and the last 11 months have been crazy! Movies, Street Fighter, Endless talks and You became a part of my life like no one has. I loved every second I spent with you and then the lockdown happened. I missed you like a part of me was missing! I realised and was sure that I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” Signed and sealed, they make us so happy!

5. Sadaf Kanwal and Shahroz Sabzwari

Their wedding was probably one of the most talked about this year! Shehroz’s fans were not pleased when he and Syra Yousuf parted ways after several years of marriage. However, unfettered by what people had to say (and rightly so!), Shehroz and Sadaf got married in a Nikkah ceremony at home. Both stars announced the news on Instagram, posting a picture with their families, with Sadaf writing “Complete” in the caption. We wish them happiness always!

6. Faryal Mehmood and Daniyal Rahael

They were dating for two years before finally taking the plunge! Faryal and Daniyal Raheal sealed the deal in May this year. They hosted a very small event with just a handful of family members and friends in attendance. Sharing the delighted news with his Instagram followers at the time, Daniyal wrote, “Almost a week ago we set of by road for Lahore but our journey did not start there. We met and spent the last two years navigating through each other’s lives to get to this point. We drove for half a day across hundreds of miles, together, to make the pilgrimage to my family so that we could be with each other for what I know is forever. Everything was perfect. Except the things that were not. My wife’s entire family is in the states. They were all there on various phones. Crying, smiling, cheering, praying for us. We missed them. My own family managed to pull together a day that will forever warm the cockles of my heart. It was everything. I am the luckiest man. I honestly am. Times are strange. Love hard! Mr and Mrs Daniyal Raheal.” How cute is that? It made us teary-eyed once again!

7. Sarah Khan and Falak Shabir

This was a shocking one too but as soon as the proposal happened, it was all over the news! Falak made it a very special occasion for the most special woman in his life. The fairytale wedding kicked off with a picture-perfect proposal, with the mehndi and reception completing the events. Sarah looked breathtaking on all days.
