What’s a better way to celebrate a weekend than a bag of caramel popcorn while binge-watching Netflix? Everyone’s latest addiction, the streaming giant has fans world over and continues to grow its audience by the day. Pakistani viewers are equally enthusiastic about Netflix and the variety of films, documentaries, reality and TV shows it offers. There is no one you will find in this day and age who has not subscribed to Netflix. But in big news, Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry, has now taken to Twitter to reveal that the country will have its own version of Netflix real soon.
The OTT platform will be available to the audience later this year. Chaudhry mentioned that while the technical aspect of the platform has been completed, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has now been asked to prepare guidelines for the content that will be screened on the medium.
