Aakhir Kab Tak Episode 7: Fajar’s Marriage To Saim Stars Off On The Wrong Foot

“Aakhir Kab Tak” continues to impress each week, one of the more promising shows on air at present. This drama stars Ushna Shah, Srha Asghar, Haroon Shahid, Adeel Hussain, Azfar Rehman, Shahood Alvi, Javeria Abbasi and others, has been written by Radain Shah and directed by Syed Ali Raza Usman. “Aakhir Kab Tak” is a story about female empowerment and how it is achieved coming out of a truly oppressive environment. Up until now, we’ve seen that Noor (Ushna Shah) and Fajar (Srha Asghar) have been raised in a toxic environment. While Noor has grown strong and confident, ready to fight the world, Fajar has become meek and timid – though this is one aspect one wishes more light would be shed upon. Why is Fajar so scared? Sensing this fear, Professor Zafar (Azfar Rehman) attacks Fajar and records the attack, blackmailing her, but fleeing once Noor threatens to tell the police.

In episode 7, the family plans for Fajar’s wedding, something which is an absolutely terrible idea considering Fajar’s mental state – but no one is aware of what happened other than Fajar, Noor and their mother. And to be quite honest, if they knew, this would most likely become yet another reason for the girls to be outcasts in their own home. Noor truly believes this is what is best for Fajar, as it will get her out of their home environment and she will be able to live her life with loving, kind people unlike their family. However, Fajar desperately needs therapy, counseling, love, attention and support – and marriage is not a replacement for these things. Marriage cannot be a quick fix nor can it be the solution for a sexual assault victim. Fajar is terrified on her wedding night and screams when Saim (Haroon Shahid) come snear her, leaving him bewildered. Saim is a kind enough man to sit back and give her space, but unfortunately, Fajar’s screams alert Saim’s family to the fact that something is amiss.

Mujhe Vida Kar Episodes 21 – 24: Will Usman Wake Up To His Family’s Abuse?

Back home, Noor has one less problem when her Chacha and his family move out to their own place, though this places more of a burden on her father (Shahood Alvi) and appears to result in him falling ill. Will this be the moment for Noor to stand up and prove how valuable daughters are? And will Saim be exactly the partner Fajar needs? He appears to be a kind man and Haroon Shahid is playing him well. Of course, Ushna Shah and Srha Asghar are both fabulous, along with Shahood Alvi, Javeria Abbasi and Gul E Rana. While “Aakhir Kab Tak” may be a heavy topic, the show is moving quickly and highlighting some real issues in society, making it a worthwhile watch.
