Aaminah Haq refuses to respond to her haters

After a long while, Aaminah Haq has been making headlines all thanks to model-turned-actor, Amna Ilyas. Amna Ilyas has been creating quite the buzz in the industry and her recent antics have become talk of the town these past few days. If you haven’t heard, then Amna Ilyas has been taking to social media to defend her stance after an old interview surfaced, in which she can be seen making fun of and making disrespectful gestures to describe former model Aaminah Haq.

But if there’s anyone who knows how to deal with haters and trolls gracefully, it is none other than Aaminah Haq. The former supermodel recently responded to fans who questioned her about what she had to say about Amna Ilyas’s recent video. Aaminah recently held a Q&A session on her Instagram stories during which one netizen questioned her about her response to the comments that were recently made by Amna Ilyas.

She wrote, “We are all entitled to our opinions and that’s all one can say. The last time I met/interacted with her was almost a decade ago in Lahore. We haven’t communicated since and I hope she is well and living her best life.” Following her response, another social media user admired how positive Aaminah Haq was being despite being trolled quite regularly. To this she responded, “Like everyone else, I have made many mistakes and occasionally hurt people in my life.”

She then reiterated what Ilyas had said in a much calmer tone. “I am trying to change those patterns and be a nicer version of myself.” Haq also relayed why it was important for her to not troll or respond to any haters in return. “I cry when things get me down too, which is why it’s important not to troll people for their views as bringing someone pain isn’t the right thing to do. I am sorry for all the times I hurt someone I know or don’t know.”

Moving along in the Q&A session, Aaminah Haq was asked whether she would want to see a change in the contemporary fashion scene of Pakistan. She said, “I would like to see more transparency, kindness and social responsibility.” It is unclear whether or not she was referring to Amna Ilyas or not but she went on to recall similar events from her past without naming or shaming anyone. “I was mercilessly bullied and shamed to a point that I was depressed for decades. That should not happen again,” Haq asserted.

During the session, Haq was also asked about who she thought was the worst Pakistani actress she had ever met. “Who was the worst Pakistani actress you met? How was Meera?” In response to this, Haq said, “I was a terrible actress so that title is all mine. Meera jee was always lovely to me so I’ve got nothing but love for her.”

We think Aaminah Haq has handled the whole situation quite gracefully.
