TV host and politician, Aamir Liaquat and his wife Tuba Aamir are the latest to have fallen prey to the novel coronavirus, amid increasing infections in Pakistan. Taking to her Instagram, Tuba wrote in a post, “Salam everyone. Aamir Liaquat and I have tested positive for coronavirus. We are isolating ourselves at home.” She requested their fans for prayers and well-wishes, adding, “We need your prayers more than ever right now. May Allah give shiffa to everyone. Ameen.” Several Pakistani celebrities have contracted the deadly disease in the recent past. Most of them have also come forward to speak about their horrific experiences.
These include Usman Mukhtar, Bilal Maqsood, Farwa Kazmi, Saheefa Jabbar Khattak, Rubina Ashraf, Yasir Nawaz, Nida Yasir and Amir Adnan among several others. Earlier this week, Khattak shared on Instagram, “Covid positive. Send little love, prayers and flowers our way.” Just a day before her diagnosis, Mukhtar posted, “Guys I’ve tested positive for Covid-19. Thankfully I have also tested positive for having awesome people like you to pray for my health. Please keep me in your prayers and safe space. This isn’t over yet.”

Adnan, however, was one of the few celebrities who were hit with the virus in the initial months of the pandemic. His experience was nothing short of horrific. Detailing the events, Adnan had posted earlier, “As soon as you detect any of the Covid symptoms, please isolate immediately and get tested. I took steam for 10 minutes followed with salt and hot water gargle six times a day. Drank hot green tea with ginger and honey at least 12 to 16 cups a day. Had 2.5 litres of water. Lit-C, 1000 CC twice daily, Surbex Z religiously every day.” He added, “I stayed in one room for 21 days but washed clothes, made the room, cleaned bathroom and washed dishes and disinfected the area very day. This kept the virus contained in one room and protected others. Food was left outside my door and nothing left my room once it had entered.” We hope everyone and their families remain healthy and safe!
