According to Google, Anushka Sharma is married to Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan

A quick Google search for Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan will show that he is married to Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma. Fans have just discovered the error and have shed light on the hiccup made by Google. Anushka Sharma is in fact, married to Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli. While this appears to be a big misunderstanding on the search engine’s part, Google may have had its own reason for showing him married to the Sanju actor.

According to a leading Indian daily, Rashid Khan, 22, was recently asked in an Instagram question and answer session to name his favourite female actors, to which he responded and said he “loved to watch Anushka Sharma and Priety Zinta.”

And that is all that was needed for them to be paired together on social media. The two started trending on social media which could have made the search engine believe that the two were married. Just like this goof-up, Donald Trump’s pictures show up when you do a simple search for ‘idiot’ on Google. Nevertheless, Anushka Sharma is in fact married to Virat Kohli and the couple are expecting their first child together.

Of course, Twitter was left in a frenzy when fans took to the micro-blogging site and made the hashtag #RashidKhanwife trend on the social media platform. There were some epic reactions to the search and here’s what netizens have been saying while taking to Twitter.

“When did Rashid marry Anushka Sharma?” one user asked, while another highlighted the huge mistake the search engine made. “What a goof-up by google.”

“Ye kab, kaise, aur kya ho gya,” one confused fan questioned.

A number of Twitter users also tagged Virat Kohli in their posts questioning when this happened and whether fans should expect another announcement. We think Google has given us some much-needed amusement we needed this week!
