If there is one celebrity who is creating a buzz across social media for all the wrong reasons, it is none other than Kanye West. From making announcements about running for president, to making claims that he is wanting to divorce his wife, Kim Kardashian, to launching a new line of Yeezy’s that has irked the Muslim community, Kanye West has been on quite the rollercoaster of events. And if that wasn’t enough, he is now taking a trip down memory lane and has spoken about the 2009 VMA’s.
The 2009 VMA’s can be remembered for one thing and one thing alone, the infamous incident between Kanye West and Taylor Swift. In a recent interview with Nick Canon, Kanye West recalled the very same incident during which he interrupted Taylor Swift as she gave her acceptance speech. Taylor Swift was 19 at the time. Kanye West revealed that he was ordered by God to jump on stage and interrupt the singer, according to a report in Unilad.
“If God didn’t want me to run on stage and say, ‘Beyoncé had the best video,’ he wouldn’t have sat me in the front row. I would’ve been sitting in the back. He wouldn’t have made it the first award. And [He] wouldn’t have made it so ridiculous of an idea ’cause I had never heard of this person before that night. And Single Ladies is like one of the greatest videos of all time… And I was only drinking Hennessy because I didn’t want to go to the awards show ’cause it was a set-up!” West said during the interview.
The rapper, 43, has claimed that he started reading the Bible back in 2016 after he was hospitalised for psychiatric observation and treatment of temporary psychosis – the same year he released Famous. “God brought me to my knees multiple times. The first time that I was put into the hospital in 2016, I actually started reading the bible. That was part of what God hit me with. You know, God has a calling on all of us and he uses us in different ways,” he said.
Now we can only hope God doesn’t order him to get up to no good!
