According to royal expert, Archie will become prince when Charles is King

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s little boy, Archie, didn’t get much taste of the royal life. The couple relieved themselves of their royal duties and decided instead to lead a life away from the royal family. And with that, baby Archi will be raised in Santa Barbara, California. While the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to build a new life away from the royal family, it appears that their son will still be very high up in rank within the British Royal family.

According to a royal family expert, once Archie’s grandfather, Prince Charles becomes the King, Archie will receive the title of prince. Prince Harry and Meghan Marle may have chosen to leave their royal life behind and not give Archie his title when he was born, once he reaches the age of 18, he will be able to choose whether or not he uses his HRH title. According to the expert, baby Archie will also be subject to a very restrictive royal rule should he ever choose to get married.

“Prior to the Succession [to] the Crown Act 2013 all descendants of George II, under the terms of the Royal Marriages Act 1772, unless the issue of a princess who had married into a foreign royal family, had to obtain the sovereign’s permission to marry in order to retain their rights in succession. The 2013 Act sought to bring multiple pieces of outdated and discriminatory legislation relating to the monarchy up to date,” the expert said while speaking to a British news portal.

“Through this Act male primogeniture was abolished, allowing the firstborn child irrespective of gender to become heir apparent. The disqualification from inheriting the throne by marrying a Catholic was removed; and the Royal Marriages Act of 1772 was repealed, resulting in only the first six in line to the throne being required to obtain the sovereign’s permission.”

While the Royal family is yet to confirm this information, the Queen has always made it clear since the beginning of the Sussexes’ royal exit that they would always be welcome back. But for now, it appears the couple is happy building their new, simpler life in California which is surrounded by volunteer work and activism.
