Adnan Siddiqui heads to Ertug?rul Ghazi’s tomb during Turkey visit

A quick scroll through our Instagram feed and it appears everyone has headed to Istanbul to beat the post lockdown blues. A number of celebrities too, braved travelling during the pandemic to head overseas. Adnan Siddiqui too decided to take a leap of faith and headed to the land of Rumi and the whirling dervishes and headed to Turkey for a recent shoot. Of course it wasn’t all work and no play for the actor who decided to take some time off and do some exploring of his own.

Adnan Siddiqui is an avid user of social media and has also been keeping his fans apprised of what he has been up to in Turkey. During his excursions he decided to pay a visit to the famous tomb of the warrior, Ertug?rul Ghazi. Taking to the gram, the actor shared a video of the monument and wrote, “One must be marooned on an island to not know about Ertug?rul Ghazi now that he’s moved out of boring history books to the legendary Turkish series Ertug?rul.”

His caption went on to explain, “So much is the frenzied fan following in Pakistan that the period drama captures most of the conversations these days. So here I was, at the tomb of the great Ertug?rul in So?g?u?t who can be loosely attributed as the founder of the Ottoman Empire going by historical events.” The Meray Paas Tum Ho actor took a trip down history and explained, “Ertug?rul, the chieftain of Kayi tribe, the man who championed the cause of Islam, wished for a prosperous and safe state for Muslims and non-Muslims alike and whose regime was based on the tenets of justice and fair play.”

When the actor was present at the tomb, a number of thoughts crossed his mind. “Multiple thoughts crisscrossed my mind as I took in the beauty and the simplicity of the mausoleum. I had expected a grand monument to celebrate the great Ertug?rul, a man of commanding authority, and a greater legacy. And here was a tomb that spoke volumes of the chief’s life but didn’t need to rely on grandiosity. Humbled,” he shared.

Just last week, Adnan Siddiqui met one of the ‘makers’ of the famous Turkish series, Dirili? Ertu?rul. The Mom actor shared a video of himself in Turkey claiming that he was with the ‘maker’ of hit Turkish series, which went viral on social media.

Towards the end of the video, the actor can be heard saying, “Right now, I’m with Qadir Sahab, and he is the man who created Ertu?rul; his company created it.” He then drops perhaps a hint, saying, “InshaAllah you will be having some good news…”

Dirili? Ertu?rul has been a favourite amongst Pakistanis since PM Imran Khan had the show run on state-run television and recommended citizens to watch the show for increasing their knowledge about Islam and its rich history.
