After Mulan, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet To Release In Pakistan On September 18

Pakistan first imposed the Covid-19 lockdown in mid-March 2020. From big business to small ones, everything came to a standstill, with people being locked inside their homes. Film shootings were postponed indefinitely as well as movie releases in cinema theatres, which were shut down across the country. Soon after Eidul Azha, people slowly started returning back to their normal life. On the entertainment front, cinema owners have also made the decision to open theatres, while putting social distancing and other coronavirus precautions in place. Mulan, releasing nationwide on September 11, will be the first to be screened in the country, reported The Express Tribune.

Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which has also already released in the US and the UK, will also finally release in Pakistan on September 18. Film producers, stake holders cinema owners and distributors suffered a major blow when the unexpected pandemic hit the country. However, gripped with high hopes, they are expecting a warm response from cinemagoers.

All SOPs will be maintained within and outside cinema halls. “Cinema owners and employees have been asked to follow all regulations and there will be minimum seats available in each cinema hall with a maximum distance between the viewers,” a Distribution Club official told the publication. Many local releases were also delayed earlier this year. These include Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza’s Quaid e Azam Zindabad and Fatman, Adnan Siddiqui’s Dum Mastam, Faisal Qureshi’s Money Back Guarantee, and shooting of Wajahat Rauf’s Parde Mein Rehne Do and The Legend of Maula Jatt. The Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan starrer was slated for an Eid release, along with Urwa Hocane’s production debut, Tich Button. The final release dates of these films have not been released yet. Well, that is some good news and people can finally have something to do over the weekend!
