Air India Crash: Pakistani Stars Send Prayers To Victims Of Ill-fated Flight

From the Covid-19 pandemic to the PIA plane crash to shocking celebrity deaths and the most recent explosion in Beirut, there is no denying that 2020 has been a year filled with the worst surprises. Just as the world was trying to heal from the tragic blast in the Lebanese capital on August 4, an Air India plane crashed yesterday amid heavy rainfall in the southern city of Calicut. The aircraft, which took off from Dubai and was headed to Kerala, overshot the runway at Kozhikode and split into two with a total of 191 passengers and crew members on board, including 10 infants.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan as well as a bevy of renowned entertainment personalities offered their heartfelt condolences and prayers to the victims of the ill-fated flight. “Saddened to learn of the Air India plane crash in Kerala state leading to loss of innocent lives. May Allah give strength to the bereaved families in their difficult hour,” the premier wrote on Twitter. A number of stars from Pakistan’s entertainment industry also expressed grief following the incident on late Friday night.
