Ali Zafar may be popular for his singing and acting skills but there is a lot more to him. His wit and humour makes him a fan favourite even today irrespective of what his haters say. The star often takes to his Instagram handle to share snippets from his personal and professional life, memes that click with him and many more entertaining things. This time around was no different. The Channo singer took to the photo-sharing platform and responded to a post uploaded by American actor Alicia Silverstone. Back in 2017, the latter uploaded a picture of a henna box, locally made in Pakistan.
It read, “Afshan Brown Mehndi,” with a line in Urdu that implied the colour turns out to be great when applied to the hair. Alicia captioned it, “Someone sent this to me. What language is this? Pretty funny!” Now, Ali has re-shared the Blast from the Past actor’s post on his Instagram story.

Tagging Alicia in his post, Ali wrote, “If you want to truly understand this, you will have to come to Pakistan and spend some time here,” alongside a smiley emoji. Many of Alicia’s followers also commented on her post when she first uploaded it. Amongst them was director Omair Rana, who really put things into perspective for the Hollywood starlet. He wrote, “It’s Urdu, partly written in English text. Afshan is a girl’s name. Literally means glitter. Mehndi is henna. Brown mehndi might be self-explanatory. Top right is Urdu text, yes it resembles Persian. It reads, ‘For-ee Taze Rung’ which means Instant Sharp Colour. It implies that this henna leaves colour on the holder instantly, which is often preferred… there you go!” Throwing shade at the ongoing US Presidential Elections, Rana ended his comment with, “Now vote Trump out. Stay safe!”
