Ali Zafar Vows To Provide Legal Aid To Poor And Innocent Women In Jail

International Women’s Day was celebrated world over on March 8. To commemorate the occasion, several Pakistani celebrities took to their social media handles, appreciating the strong women in their lives, who have made them who they are today. From VJ and host Anoushey Ashraf to model-actor Rabia Butt and Mansha Pasha, showbiz A-listers shared heartfelt messages on Instagram. From the men, singer and actor Ali Zafar won the hearts of his fans, following a big announcement. The artists announced on his Twitter handle that he will be providing legal aid to the poor and innocent women in jail.

 

Writing on the mico-blogging site, Zafar posted, “There are countless innocent & poor women in jail for years due to lack of legal representation. Today, on #WomensDay, I vouch to do my best, in my humble capacity, to get them the aid needed to fight for their freedom & justice but together we can do more. Join us @AliZFoundation.”

His followers took to the comments section lauding him for the initiative. Prior to this, Zafar shared a clip on his Instagram, in celebration of Women’s Day. In the video, he can be heard asking, “Who runs the world?” Just as he poses the question, a bunch of women pop up from behind him, with their hands up in the air and say, “Girls!” The footage ends with all of them bursting into laughter. An uplifting post, indeed! Earlier, Zafar had paid tribute to late Pakistani mountaineer Ali Sadpara, who went missing with two foreign climbers, John Snorri from Iceland and MP Mohr from Chile, while attempting a K2 winter summit. He released a song Tum Chale Ao Paharon Ki Qasam, followed by a music video, which was praised by music enthusiasts and Zafar’s fans alike.
