Fans of the much-loved web series, Mirzapur, have been wondering when they will be able to see a release of season 2. It appears to be the most asked question pertaining to the show. And now, it seems their questions have been answered because Amazon Prime has taken to social media to announce that the sequel of the popular web series will be released. A video was shared to their social media handles which pays homage to its fans.
The video shows how everyone has been eagerly awaiting the release of Mirzapur 2 and the video concludes by saying, “Jaldi milenge, bahot hua intezaar (We will meet soon, been waiting for long).” Last month, the Mirzapur 2 cast was spotted at the dubbing studio which got fans excited. The web series was scheduled to begin streaming earlier this year, however, like many things, this too was postponed owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fans have high expectations from the second season of the series and the Mirzapur 2 lead, Ali Fazal feels that there is high pressure to deliver again. He shared, “We were always the underdogs and there was always immense love from the audience. But now the show is considerably delayed because of the circumstances posed by the pandemic. Through the lockdown, fans have been after us. We can feel the eyes on us, and I hope the audience is a little generous. Such great content has come out in the last one year that I will be very proud of being part of Amazon’s legacy.”

For those unversed about the show, Mirzapur is a crime thriller web series which revolves around drugs, guns and lawlessness. It highlights the governance and rule of mafia leaders and the rivalry and crime prevailing in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh. The first season of the web series featured Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, Divyendu Sharma and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
