Amitabh Bachchan denies reports of being Covid free

Ten days ago, Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan was tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Since being tested positive, he was admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital. Soon after the news of him testing positive surfaced, his son Abishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan too were tested positive. They too were taken to the same hospital for treatment.

Ever since news surfaced of them being tested positive, fans, friends and family have been taking to social media to send well wishes for the entire family and wishing them a speedy recovery. Just recently, another major news surfaced claiming that Amitabh Bachchan has now tested negative for Covid-19. Reports even suggested that the megastar would be discharged from the hospital soon. While fans sighed a sigh of relief, it turns out that these reports were merely false news and being circulated as a hoax.

The Piku actor, who is very active on social media, took to his Twitter to announce that the news was in fact false. Taking to his Twitter account to rubbish the news, he wrote, “this news is incorrect, irresponsible, fake and an incorrigible LIE.” Check out his tweet below:

On a more positive note however, the actor has been overwhelmed with the response from his fans and followers from across the globe. He has also been rather active during his recovery and has been engaging with his fans through social media. He has continuously expressed gratitude to his fans for their continuous, unconditional love and support. Other members of his family including Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan and Navya Nanda have tested negative for Covid-19.
