Angelina Jolie to Visit Pakistan To show Solidarity With Flood Victims

Monsoon rains and floods have wreaked havoc in Pakistan this time around in which more than 1100 people have lost their lives. Reportedly 35000 houses have been destroyed by the onslaught of floods and rains and around 3 crores and 3 lacs people are internally displaced and homeless. It is said that around 60% of Pakistan has suffered from massive flash floods and many people have lost their loved ones. Not just individuals, many people of influence as well as NGOs have come forward to provide relief goods to the flood-affected areas
Looking at the situation, Hollywood star and United Nations special envoy Angelina Jolie is reportedly going to visit Pakistan soon as a show of solidarity with those affected by the devastating moonsoon rains, and floods as well as the relief and rescue efforts underway in the affected areas. Back in 2010, The Mr. and Mrs. Smith star visited Pakistan specifically Nowshera in North-West Pakistan when it was massively hit by flood and monsoon rains.
Earlier many international celebrities like Supermodel Bella Hadid inquired about the proper procedure to provide relief to flood affected. The prime Minister of Canada issued a message ad also sent aid our way. Indian stars like Aly Goni and Ishan Khattar posted about the flood devastations and brought attention to this grave issue. Jemimah Goldsmith announced an auction of the private screening of “What Love Got To Do With It” and announced its proceeding to flood relief in Pakistan.
We hope and pray that with iconic Angelina Jolie visiting Pakistan, the issue is highlighted globally and relief efforts are increased immediately.
