Beirut Blast: Pakistani Stars Send Heartfelt Prayers To Victims Of The Tragedy

A ginormous blast shook the Lebanese capital of Beirut yesterday. The unexpected explosion killed dozens and left thousands injured. Local media outlets showed people trapped beneath the rubble as buildings collapsed, leaving glass and debris everywhere. Hospitals in Beirut have been overwhelmed since the incident. While the cause of the calamity is not clear, an investigation is under way to find out the exact trigger for the explosion. Lebanon’s Supreme Defence Council revealed that those responsible would face the “maximum punishment” possible. Donations have been pouring in from people all over the world, alongside heartfelt messages for the people of Beirut. A bevy of Pakistani stars also expressed grief on social media.

Actor Mehwish Hayat tweeted with a broken heart emoji. She wrote, “The footage coming in from Beirut is truly devastating. My heart grieves for all the people suffering … Sending them lots of prayers and love #Beirut #BeirutExplosion #Lebanon.” Humayun Saeed followed suit. He posted an image of a destroyed buildings minutes after the blast. The picture shows the city in shambles and smoke taking over the sky. An upset Saeed penned, “Prayers for Beirut. May Allah protect us all.”

Star Hamza Ali Abbasi, who recently welcomed a baby with his wife Naimal Khawar, was quick to take note of the tragedy. Taking to Twitter, he posted, “#Beirut Ya Allah have mercy… Prayers for Lebanon. Way too tragic and heartbreaking.” Echoing his sentiments, singer Asim Azhar added, “Prayers from Pakistan for #Beirut Ya Allah Reham.” A-lister Kubra Khan seemed equally affected. “I still can’t process the magnitude of the explosion in Beirut. My heart and prayers go out to all affected by it. May Allah have mercy on his servants #PrayForBeirut #PrayForTheWorld,” wrote Kubra on Instagram.
