#CivilWarInPakistan: Pakistani Twitter Responds To False Reporting With Hilarious Memes

Twitter has been abuzz with a viral footage and ample news stories reported by various Indian media outlets regarding an ongoing “civil war” between the army and Sindh police force in Karachi. The false news has now caught the eye of social media users on the micro-blogging site who cannot help but share memes in light of the same. It all started with a verified account of an Indian advocate, Pratashnt Patel Umrao, which read, “Civil War like situation in Pakistan. Army-Police clash in Karanchi, many officers are died. Maximum Police Officers from Sindh are on leave. They are demanding Sindhu Desh. Imran has ordered to play Pak National songs on Radio.” Another user posted a picture of a soldier lying on the ground amid mud and blood, and captioned it, “Situation is out of control. This Jawan laid down his life for the country.” These posts creating an uproar amongst Pakistanis who are now responding with memes, humorous re-tweets and much more!

One Pakistani user retorted saying, “I am in Karachi and can confirm its true. Imran khan and Ironman have just done a press conference whereas Captain America is leading the sindhu desh protest and will be joined by Antman, Bucky and Wanda in an hour. Stay tuned for more.” Another added, “Meanwhile in Karachi we are waiting for our Beef Burgers,” posting a picture of a group of friends enjoying a night out at a restaurant, throwing shade at a rather peaceful state of affairs in Karachi. A rib-tickling meme, showing fighter planes flying against the background of Quaid-e-Azam’s mazaar, read, “Breaking news: we have visuals coming in from Karachi showing that citizens have now joined the civil war and are fighting pak air force.”

Sharing a video clip of a man racing on a donkey cart, one Twitter user penned, “Spotted: Police reinforcements rushing towards Gulshan-e-Bagh, Karachi.” LOL! A witty post read, “India has sent Ajay Devgan to Karachi to participate in civil war. Tony Stark has sided with police. Black Panther is with army. This is all true, straight from realible indian journalists who are setting a new benchmark in news reporting.” A user shared images of US war ships in crystal clear, deep waters and wrote, “Army has completely taken over karachi, I can see the US warships from Gulshan-e-Bagh beach.” The user was responding to a false post which read, “UFOs have been sighted above Karachi, we have yet to find out who’s side they are on.”
