Converse is about to drop a sustainable shoe and we’re here for it

In today’s world, much focus is being put on being environmentally friendly, practicing sustainability and helping the planet by becoming greener and cleaner. With so many statistics and information available in abundance, we can all find ways to adapt our living practices to do our part in saving the planet from getting further contaminated.

Fashion houses, supermarkets and other large corporations have all implemented sustainable living in the form of installing solar power, using recyclable bags and asking customers to shop in cloth or jute bags. The fashion industry has also gone as far as producing clothing and other items with recyclable materials and ensuring that the end result is also in line with sustainable practices.

And with that being said, we can now say hello to the new sustainable shoe! Converse just announced that they will be launching a brand new sneaker, the Chuck Taylor All Star Crater, which will be a revamped and sustainable version of the classic, iconic shoe that has been a part of our wardrobes for the past 100 years.

The Crater, which it will be known as, will be the brand’s most sustainable sneaker to date. It is also a part of Nike’s Move to Zero mission for zero carbon and zero waste. The new sneaker however, will not lose its classic touch and will resonate with the timeless look of Chucks. It has been reported that the shoes are made of 40 percent recycled material, by weight.

As per a press release, the shoes are made with the brand’s new Carter Foam and Morphlon materials, which are an amalgamation of recycled polyester and waste scraps; turned into a stylish and comfortable look and feel. The Converse Crater will cost you $95 and will be dropping on July 23rd. They will be available in three new colours and we can’t wait for its release later this month!
