Could Kamala Harris’ Win Inspire Meghan Markle To Go Into US Politics? This Celebrity Biographer Thinks So

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle made history after becoming the first British Royal to vote in the US Presidential Elections 2020. Now, many news reports have claimed that the ex-Suits star could follow in the footsteps of Michelle Obama and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris. The same was revealed by Celebrity Biographer Sean Smith, who also penned the book Meghan Misunderstood, a novel about the former American actress who became a member of the British Royal family after marrying Prince Harry. “I think she has the intelligence and she articulates feelings that many people feel very very well,” Smith told Express UK in an interview.

When asked if he could see Meghan running for a Presidential candidate position in the future, he added, “I don’t see why not, but one thing at a time”. He continued, “It is not unusual for actors to go into politics; all know who they are, Ronald Reagan, Schwarzenegger, Clint Eastwood.”

Other royal experts believe that Meghan may find herself working for Harris, who is someone she looks up to and greatly admires. She had earlier hinted at promoting Harris when she claimed to have been “excited” seeing people of colour represented in American politics. Many media industry insiders have also expressed hope of a possible collaboration between the two, with the help of Meghan’s Netflix deal, becoming a hit in terms of ratings. Some even feel the duo could come together for non-political podcasts as well where they fight against important subjects such as hate speech and social media regulation. Earlier, Meghan and Harry even bought their first home together in California’s Santa Barbara County. They were reportedly previously living in Tyler Perry’s mansion in Los Angeles.
