UAE visit visa holders in India will soon be able to travel to the emirates based on an Air Bubble agreement between the two nations. This agreement is the result of India’s Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) recent decision to ease visa and travel restrictions for several countries, including the UAE. Commenting on this new development, India’s Ambassador to the UAE, Pavan Kapoor tweeted, “Since the UAE has recently started issuing new visas, we have recommended to authorities in India to consider allowing Indians with valid visas to travel to the UAE. We are hopeful for an early decision.”
He further added, “I understand that a decision to this effect has now been taken by MHA in India. This will come into effect only after the formal notification from Ministry of Civil Aviation in the next couple of days.”
Previously, the Ambassador had said visit visa holders, including job seekers from India, would not be allowed to travel to the UAE. However, this has changed as the UAE has started issuing new visas but travellers from India have been advised to wait for a formal announcement before booking their flights.
Many people with valid visit visas have not been able to fly to the UAE as preference has been given to residence visa holders to board special flights being operated between the two countries.

India already has bilateral air travel arrangements with the US, UK, Germany and France. The country has also allowed OCI cardholders to enter India from these countries. On 7th August, MHA tweeted, “Ministry of Home Affairs has permitted OCI cardholders to enter India who belong to countries with which “air bubble” arrangements have been finalised by Ministry of Civil Aviation.”
An MHA spokesperson said that other foreigners from these countries have also been given permission to get Indian visas for business, employment and medical reasons while Indian citizens can travel to these countries on any type of visa.
