If there’s one Bollywood celebrity that needs little introduction, it is none other than Deepika Padukone. The actor has marked a niche for herself in the market and rose to fame after putting her stellar acting skills on display. She is known for her spectacular performances in films including the likes of Ram Leela, Padmaavat, Piku, Bajirao Mastani and Chaapak. Her fan following transcends globally and she has most certainly become a force to be reckoned with. She made headlines when she tied the knot with long-time beau Ranveer Singh in 2018 and also serves major style inspiration each time she steps out.
There was once a time when Deepika Padukone would have three to four big releases lined up each year, all of which did exceptionally well at the Box Office. For example, in 2013 she had Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Ram-Leela. In 2015 too she had big releases like Piku, Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani. The past few years however, Deepika Padukone has been sticking to one big release per year.
Times have changed however, and now, Deepika Padulone has five big films in her kitty which means we’ll be seeing a lot more of the starlet on the big screen. The Piku actor will first be seen in a film alongside her husband, 83’, which will mark their first film together since they tied the knot. She will be playing Ranveer Singh’s wife in Kabir Khan’s next which will narrate the story of when India won the world cup in 1983.
Soon, she will begin work on Shakun Batra’s next which was supposed to go on floors in May. Owing to the pandemic however, the schedule has been delayed. Deepika Padukone will then move to filming the remake of the Hollywood film, The Intern where she plays a power woman who hires a 70 year old widower as her intern. If you still haven’t seen the\ Robert De Niro-Anne Hathway starrer, what are you waiting for? We think this one is going to be a great watch.
As well as the above, Deepika Padukone has the magnum opus being directed by Ashwin Nag starring Prabhas and her for the very first time. Reports suggest that the film is a futuristic, sci-fi film which will have plenty of VFX and scaled-up action. The makers have already started prep work as it is heavy on visualization.
And last but least, Deepika Padukone is all set to work on her much-awaited project based on Draupadi, where she will be teaming up with Madhu Matena to bring this larger-than life-character to the big screen. It appears that there is no stopping Deepika Padukone and she is truly exploring different genres and roles to play. All we can say is that we’re more than excited to see what she has in store for her audiences.
