Amongst the many controversies that have been going around, Ellen DeGeneres’ show is one. Recent claims were made which suggested that there was a toxic environment at her workplace, which even led to an internal investigation. And now, it has been confirmed by Ellen DeGeneres herself that her talk show will be back and she will be addressing the issue at hand.
The host, who gained negative publicity following the claims, has now revealed that The Ellen DeGeneres Show will return in-studio for season 18 which will also feature a guest appearance from comedian Tiffany Haddish on September 21.
“I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it,” Ellen DeGeneres said in a press release obtained by USA Today Tuesday. And by “it” of course the talk show host means the allegations of racism, sexual harassment and workplace toxicity leveled against her by anonymous former staffers.
Earlier this year, the host penned a letter to her staff members in which she expressed her disappointment at the accusations levelled against her. “On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect,” she wrote. She went on to add, “Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show.”
The Warner Bros. studio had also conducted an internal review of complaints made by staff members. The internal workplace review has so far resulted in the ousting of three producers. The scandal made many question the future of the show but it appears DeGeneres is gearing up for whatever it has to throw at her.

Her show will return to the ‘Ellen stage’ on the Warner Bros. sans an in-studio audience, owing to the coronavirus restrictions that forced production to suspend in March. The week of its premiere, the show will feature celebrity appearances from Kerry Washington, Alec Baldwin and Chrissy Teigen. Other guests, including Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Adam Sandler and Orlando Bloom, will appear throughout the month, according to the outlet.
