Diljit Dosanjh Vs Kangana Ranaut: Everything To Know About Their Feisty Twitter Brawl

Queen star Kangana Ranaut has landed herself in hot waters yet again but this time she is not going to be easily forgiven by social media users or her contemporaries. Involved in a Twitter brawl with musician and actor Diljit Dosanjh, she is being called out for her misinformed opinions amid the ongoing farmer’s protests in India. Kangana uploaded a tweet in which she took a jibe at a farmer’s aged mother who was present on the occasion. In a now deleted post following ample backlash, Kangana insulted the elderly woman by saying she was available for ‘Rs100’. “Hahaha, she is the same dadi who featured in Time Magazine for being the most powerful Indian and she is available in 100 rupees.” She then went on to talk about how “Pakistani journos have hijacked international PR for India in an embarrassing way.” Her post met with criticism from several Bollywood insiders and trolling on the micro-blogging platform.

Diljit was the first to call Kangana out for her crude behaviour. “Respected MAHINDER KAUR JI. Ah Sunn La Ni With Proof @KanganaTeam. Banda Ena V Ni Anna Hona Chaida…Kush v Boli Turi jandi aa,” he replied, clarifying that Kangana mistook 73-year-old Mohinder Kaur for the popular Bilkis Bano, widely known as Shaheen Bagh dadi. Moreover, Kaur denied being hired for any political gain. A furious Kangana instantly got personal with Diljit, also referring to her as acclaimed filmmaker Karan Johar’s paltu (pet) in another tweet. “Ooo Karan Johar ke paltu, jo dadi Saheen Baag mein apni citizenship keliye protest kar rahi thi wohi Bilkis Bano dadi ji Farmers ke MSP ke liye bhi protest karti hue dikhi. Mahinder Kaur ji ko toh main janti bhi nahin. Kya drama chalaya hai tum logon ne? Stop this right now,” she wrote, making many users question why she dragged KJo into the fight in the first place.

Not one to hold back, Diljit slammed Kangana by asking her if she is the ‘paltu’ of the long list of directors she has worked with. He accused her for playing with people’s emotions often and being a pathological liar. “Tuneh Jitne Logon Ke Saath Film Ki Tu Un Sab Ki Paaltu Hai…? Fer To List Lambi Ho Jaegi Maalko Ki? Eh Bollywood Wale Ni PUNJAB Wale aa…Hikk Te Vajj Sadey Jhooth bol kar logo ko badhkana aur emotions se khailna woh toh aap achey se janti ho,” read Diljit’s post. But she did not stop there and called him a ‘chamcha’ next! The post clearly aggravated Diljit more, who then questioned Kangana’s morals. He asked her why she claims to be so patriotic when no country promotes disrespecting the elderly and requested her to stop her nonstop round-the-clock bickering. “Desh Nu Jodan Di Gal Kar Todan Di Ni.. Ah Jawab de Phelan.. DESH TERE KALLI DA NI.. Bas Bhonki jana 24 ghante Eh Hee Kam Fadeya aa Tu.. Kisey de v maa Baap nu bura bolna eh Kehda Desh sikhaunda Bai..? Avi Desh bhakti Da card kheldi rehndi aa jadon Dekho,” retorted the singer. “Our mothers who live in our heart, you say they’re on hire for Rs100. I know all your ploy. India is not yours alone. Promoting political agenda, the whole time. Punjabis have sacrificed the most and now you’re abusing our mothers. Don’t worry we won’t let you forget,” added Diljit, in Punjabi language. Kangana responded saying she was ‘pareshaan’ (worried) by the protests.

Taking the conversation back to the protests, Diljit told his followers that Kangana is trying to take all the attention to herself. “This woman works to divert attention from real issues. Punjabis know your truth,” he tweeted. Several Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter and joined Diljit’s team. I used to have immense respect for @KanganaTeam. I even tweeted in support when her office was demolished. I now think I was wrong, Kangana being a woman you should show the old lady some respect. If you have any etiquette, then apologise. Shame on you,” wrote singer Mika Singh. Following suit, Swara Bhaskar posted, “Diljit Dosanjh is a STAR! Dil-jit actually!” alongside several fire and love-struck emojis. Actors Richa Chadha and Taapsee Pannu also came to Diljit’s defence.
