Dubai has launched a new initiative to showcase the city as one of the safest destinations in the post-Covid world. Following the reopening of the emirate to international tourists from 7th July, the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), Department of Economic Development (Dubai Economy) and Dubai Municipality have established a new verification and validation process for ensuring the health and safety of visitors.
All hotels, F&B outlets, retail establishments and tourist attractions in the emirate, which comply with the safety guidelines outlined by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, will receive a Dubai Assured stamp. This will be issued free of charge and will be valid for a period of 15 days. It can be renewed every two weeks following inspection by the relevant authorities. More than 1,000 establishments have already been inspected, under this programme, which will be receiving the stamp and can include it in their promotional materials.
Speaking about this new initiative, Director-General Dubai Tourism, Helal Saeed Almarri said, “The health and safety of our residents and visitors remains our utmost priority. The compliance programme we have rolled out across the hospitality sector with the wholehearted support of Dubai Economy and Dubai Municipality is not only testament to the continued efforts being made to further enhance health and safety standards but is also a confidence-boosting measure to reassure travellers that Dubai is one of the world’s safest destinations.”
A survey conducted on travel destination selection, by global consulting firm HVS, revealed that 85 percent of travellers will be making travel plans on the basis of the destination’s reputation in terms of safety and the actions taken by its government to manage coronavirus.

Director-General Dubai Economy, Sami Al Qamzi has said that commercial establishments in Dubai have demonstrated “outstanding commitment” in implementing precautionary measures which have helped Dubai “reopen for business and welcome visitors in spite of the global pandemic threat.”
