Eid Al Adha 2020: Free Parking Announced in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah

Motorists in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will enjoy several days of free parking during the long Eid weekend coming up. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced that all public parking areas in the emirate, apart from multi-level parking terminals, will be free from Thursday, 30th July to Sunday, 2nd August.

The Integrated Transport Center of Abu Dhabi has also made a similar announcement, with the parking tariff to be reactivated in the UAE capital on 3rd August at 7:59am. The authority has asked motorists to respect traffic rules during Eid while parking their cars and to avoid blocking any traffic movement. The centre has also urged drivers to avoid parking in private areas allotted to residents between 9 pm to 8 am. Mawaqif inspectors will be issuing fines to any violators, the authority added. 

Sharjah residents will also enjoy free parking for the four days of the public holiday in some residential areas. Director Public Parking Department at Sharjah Municipality, Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazien said that in certain areas motorists would still have to pay parking fees, including Corniche Street, Central Souq parking spaces in Al Majaz 1, Corniche Street in Al Buheira area in Al Majaz 1, 2 and 3, Al Hosn Street in Al Shuwaiheen and Al Shoyoukh areas, Qais Bin Abi Sa’sa Street and University City Road.

RTA Metro and Tram Timings During Eid Al Adha

RTA Dubai has revised timings of public transport for Eid holidays to accommodate passengers for longer hours. Metro and tram stations in Dubai will operate according to the schedule given below.
