Actor Fahad Mustafa’s latest outing Dunk centers on false accusations of sexual harassment. Talking in a recent interview, the actor mentioned why it was important to bring a show of this kind to the audience. He said, “95% cases of sexual harassment are genuine but, in some cases, people are falsely accused, so we have to tell every kind of story.” Fahad added that Dunk is a tribute to every victim who has been falsely accused of sexual harassment. The television series also stars Bilal Abbas Khan, Sana Javed and Nauman Ejaz. Fahad also weighed in on Meesha Shafi’s harassment allegations against Ali Zafar.
“I do not know much details about the case, but all I know is that Ali has suffered a lot at professional front, it is a huge loss for him and his family,” shared Fahad. “I think brands should set an example by working with the people who have been falsely accused of sexual harassment.” He continued, “We have always tried to show different kinds of stories. We also made a drama Meri Guriya which told the story of [the rape victim] Zainab. As producer it is my responsibility to tell every kind of story and I believe people will enjoy watching this drama.”

Talking earlier to BBC Urdu, Fahad noted that acting in a drama takes time, which he does not have. “If I do dramas, then I won’t be able to do all this. Right now, I am a producer and I think for others.
It has a different flavour, but if you start acting in a play, everything else will be affected. It’s not that I don’t have the heart to work on TV, maybe I don’t have the time. I might do it when the time comes,” he said. For Fahad, entertainment comes before a moral lesson in any project he produces. “Not every play can teach people. We can’t teach people with every drama, but we try to do as much as we can, TV is now a business as well as an entertainment, and we can’t always persuade people to do specific things or not,” he said.
