Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar has added another feather to his acting cap – he has joined hands with Marvel Studios for an upcoming project, details of which are being kept under tight wraps. According to India Today, the star has flown out to Bangkok to commence shooting for the project but did not reveal anything about it before departing from Mumbai. A source close to the development was quoted as saying, “Farhan is currently stationed in Bangkok, along with an international cast and crew, for the shoot of a project with Marvel Studios. All other details of the project are strictly under wraps.”
Marvel Studios is widely known for its production of Marvel Cinematic Universe films. These include the Avengers franchise, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and more that have proven to be soaring hits at the box office. Meanwhile, Farhan will be seen next in the Indian film Toofaan. The sports drama is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and also stars Mrunal Thakur in a pivotal role. The film’s teaser was recently unveiled and was praised by Bollywood fanatics and critics alike.

However, Farhan’s inclusion in the latest Marvel project has raised many eyebrows in Pakistan, since filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy was roped in to co-direct a Marvel film in September 2020. Whether or not Farhan will be starring in the same movie, only time will tell, but social media users are extremely disappointed in Pakistani stars not being cast by Marvel Studios. Shedding light on the same, a post on the micro-blogging site Twitter read, “The set is of Karachi, it’s obviously going to be a Pakistani role. Srew you once again @MarvelStudios @Marvel.
