Fitoor Episode 11: Dilnasheen and Haider’s Married Life Begins

“Fitoor” is a show that has become a guilty pleasure of sorts, a show that’s infuriating to watch and yet, it keeps the audience hooked. Written by Zanjabeel Asim and directed by Siraj Ul Haq, it stars Faysal Qureshi, Hiba Bukhari, Wahaj Ali and Kiran Haq in lead roles. In the last episode, we saw Dilnasheen and Haider’s marriage take place as a heart-broken Hamza watched on in disbelief.

Episode 11 picks up with Hamza (Wahaj Ali) storming into his home and confronting his parents over their lies and deceit. While his family thought they were doing the “right thing” by protecting him, he says exactly what the audience has been thinking – what have they achieved by lying? While they believed a scene would be avoided, he can create that same scene now, so what good was the lie? Wahaj Ali is wonderful in this role and while the show overall raises the blood pressure, one cannot deny that Wahaj Ali is giving a great performance as Hamza, playing that anger, intensity and love perfectly.

Meanwhile, Dilnasheen’s (Hiba Bukhari) married life has begun, though Haider (Faysal Qureshi) walks into the room on their wedding night to find her in tears. Haider is such a genuinely lovable character that it’s difficult to be angry with him for coming between Dilnasheen and Hamza. He is genuinely trying to do right by his new wife and, after deducing she’s upset about not being able to study, he goes back to her house that very night, picks up her books and uniform and helps her study for her exams the next day. If it weren’t for his hang-up over Mehmal (Kiran Haq), one could say Haider is the ideal husband. However, how long will it take for Mehmal to come between the two? Mehmal is trapped in a bad marriage and she’s now turning her focus onto Haider’s marriage – and destroying it? We will have to wait and see. Until then, it is sweet seeing Dilnasheen and Saad bond as a newly married couple, particularly when Dilnasheen sees Haider packing her backpack and lunch bag.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 4: Is This The Beginning of Farhad’s Tragic Journey?

Unfortunately, just as viewers begin to silently root for Dilnasheen and Haider, Dilnasheen’s obnoxious mother (Saba Qamar) continues her tirade over Dilnasheen, bullying her over how she is insulting her own family and letting them down. Dilnasheen’s family does not deserve respect and, quite honestly, as viewers, all we want to see is Dilnasheen cutting them all off completely. Now with Dilnasheen married, what turn will the show take? Neither Hamza nor Mehmal seem ready to back away from these newlyweds, so newlywed bliss does not appear to be in Dilnasheen and Haider’s future. While the show may have an infuriating aspect to it, “Fitoor” continues to be an intriguing watch that leaves the audience wondering what will happen next.
