Fitoor Episode 6: Wahaj Ali Remains In Focus As Hamza

“Fitoor” is one of the more exciting shows on television these days. Written by Zanjabeel Asim and directed by Siraj Ul Haq, it stars Faysal Qureshi, Hiba Bukhari, Wahaj Ali and Kiran Haq in lead roles. Keeping viewers interested with an endearing love story, family drama and complicated relations, “Fitoor” airs on Thursdays and Fridays, giving viewers double the dose of entertainment.

Episode 6 is a straightforward episode that is essentially composed of only 3-4 long scenes. With Dilnasheen’s (Hiba Bukhari) family furious with her, Dilnasheen is being treated as though she is less than human with only her bhabi showing her some kindness. However, her Bhabi still remains clear that Dilnasheen should simply accept her impending marriage to Haider (Faysal Qureshi), as there’s no way out of it. This family is infuritating, most of all Dilnasheen’s mother (Saba Hameed), who throws out taunts Dilnasheen’s way every moment possible, openly stating that she cannot wait for Dilnasheen to leave the house, so they will no longer have to see her face. Dilnasheen is not a bad person and she hasn’t actually done anything wrong other than have the courage to choose her own life partner, someone who loved her completely and who she believed would be able to marry her. It is not her fault that his family reacted badly. These sequences with Dilnasheen and her family are triggering and it almost makes one wish Dilnasheen would rebel.

While her family heads out to visit with Haider’s family, Hamza (Wahaj Ali) takes that opportunity to speak to Dilnasheen. The two share a tear-filled, angsty discussion. While Hamza is angry at Dilnasheen for agreeing to get married, Dilnasheen is angry with Hamza for his family’s actions/words. However, ultimately after the two talk things out, Hamza vows to bring his parents around to apologize and ask for her hand in marriage. Wahaj Ali excels in this episode, stealing the show as Hamza, a young man obsessively in love and unable to look beyond that love, desperate to make Dilnasheen his wife – and in denial that anything else could possibly happen. It’s difficult to root for anyone but Hamza in this show due to Wahaj Ali’s flawlessly intense acting. Hiba Bukhari also does a great job as Dilnasheen, giving perfect reactions to Wahaj Ali’s intense dialogues.

On the other end, Haider is seen in perfect composure in front of Dilnasheen’s family, but later, it’s clear that he’s still mourning over Mehmal (Kiran Haq). Despite agreeing to get married, Haider will never truly be over Mehmal. How will that figure into his married life with Dilnasheen? Despite being married, Mehmal is seen as seething with jealousy after finding out about Haider’s upcoming marriage. She will not make things easy for Dilnasheen and Haider. Faysal Qureshi is lovable as Haider and despite rooting for Hamza, it’s very difficult to not want happiness for Haider as well.

Fitoor Episode 5: Hiba Bukhari and Wahaj Ali Play Lovers Torn Apart

Overall, “Fitoor” continues to be a winning show, one that manages to bring the drama viewers want along with great performances. This episode is a one-man show with Wahaj Ali delivering the strongest performance and stealing the show. However, the other actors will definitely get their turn to shine as well with Haider and Dilnasheen’s wedding – and the drama that will follow.
