Four beauty trends to try this winter season

If you haven’t already felt it, there’s certainly a chill in the air which means one thing and one thing alone! Winter is right around the corner. Winter brings with it the festive spirit, wedding bells, get togethers with friends, cosy night by the fire or just getting up to no good with the girls. While we may still be in the midst of a pandemic, in some parts of the world, things are starting to look up and we can only hope things get better.

It’s been months of staying indoors, indulging in skincare, not heading out much and barely putting on any makeup; well at least for us. Now that the festive season is around the corner, we’re just about ready to dress up, head out and start living life as per the new normal. A number of industries and businesses have had to adjust to the changing world in Covid-19 and the beauty industry happens to be one of them. Trends have shifted and even though we urge everyone to keep their masks on, there will come a point where you may just have to take it off. And with that being said, we rounded up some chic winter beauty trends you can try this upcoming season.

They say that not everyone can pull off a bold pout, but we say you won’t know till you try. There’s a variety of berry-hued lip colours available in the market and this is the perfect look for those who have gotten used to not applying any makeup and still want to get away with doing so. To really pull off a bold berry lip, you have to ensure that the rest of your makeup is kept light and simple. Opt for a dewy base, coat your lashes with some mascara and get those eyebrows on fleek and round off with a bold berry lipstick to complete your look.

If you’re hellbent on not taking your mask off, then you go girl! With a mask covering half your face, the only way to make a statement is by letting those eyes do the talking. And metallic eyelids are all set to take centre stage this season. Think glitzy golds and silvers to the beauty quotient and let these icy hues elevate your look instantly. If you don’t think you could do with a full eyelid of metallics then opt for highlighting just the inside corners of your eyes which will brighten up your eyes in no time.

We may have been indoors for months but that’s the beauty of makeup. You can make people believe otherwise. You may not have stepped foot on a plane or an island this year but you can apply a blush that can totally trick people into believing you have! While keeping things natural, opt for a rosy, coral bush and use it to sweep it over the apples of your cheeks. Forgo the contouring and keep the blush as natural as possible and you’ll have people envious over your flushed rosy cheeks.

Another way to just use one of your features to create a statement winter look is through your eyebrows. Your eyebrows can be your stand alone feature when filled and shaped correctly and used all on their own. Using a long lasting brow gel to fill your brows is the best way to make a statement without going all out with your makeup look.
