In October 2019, actor Hamza Ali Abbasi sent shockwaves across the showbiz world when he announced he was putting a halt to his acting career in an attempt to rigorously follow the path of God. “A journey of more than a decade comes to an end. I have a very important announcement to make at the end of this month. Will hope my voice reaches many. Will be off social media till the end of October,” he said at the time. Fast forward one month and in November he shared the real deal with his fans, revealing in a video, “I had this divine intervention some time back, that all that I am doing in this world will end the moment I die.” And now, while he has been away from the big and small screen since, Hamza has tweeted about his plans of writing a book.
Taking to Twitter, Hamza wrote, “In the process of writing a book…obviously it’ll be about God. Hoping to be done by June 2021 InshaAllah. Will be a little inactive on social media because of that.” We saw it coming and are very excited to see what the Parwaaz Hai Junoon star has in store for us! “All these trophies, all these accolades will not bring me any good on the Day of Judgment when I meet my Maker. I have decided that I want to leave everything that might be a hurdle when it comes to making my matters easier on the Day of Judgment,” he wrote back when he decided to take a break from showbiz.
Earlier, Hamza also weighed in on his journey from atheism to Islam. The actor reflected upon how when he was 14 or 15, he became an atheist since he could not find answers to who could create such a universe. He shared he had many questions in life but science made him make his way back to the religion. “I thought about it and it came to my understanding that there has to be a Divine power that is controlling all of this,” Hamza stated at the time. “That’s how I started reading and then came back to Islam. I found out that there is so much that has to be understood,” he concluded.
