How To Plan The Perfect Bonfire Night For Your Friends And Family

Winter is coming! There is no better feeling than getting together with your loved ones in a warm and cozy environment, while binging on your go-to comfort food. Chilly months definitely call for a bonfire evening amid soothing music, easygoing conversations and roasted marshmallows. The Covid-19 outbreak has resulted in most people staying within the comfort of their homes and welcoming people in small groups, and so, your mini garden, backyard or empty garage could just be the perfect chilling spot for a cold night in! Many people lack the expertise of setting up a well-lit bonfire. If you are one of those, here are a few tips to keep in mind while setting up for your mini outdoor party.

  1. Set up the fire and environment

First things first, gather the firewood. Head over to the market and purchase some dry logs, with a few extra as backup if need be. Once home, create a fire pit in the middle of your garden. All you need to do is place some rocks and stones as the edges and place the dry logs in the center. Collect some old newspapers from inside your house and mix them with the logs to get the fire started. Wood shavings or dried leaves in the garden would do the work too!

       2.Seating and food

Make sure your outdoor space is open enough so you and your friends can have a great night together while practicing social distancing too. Not only will this put them at ease but you being the host will be relieved of added stress too! You can either assemble beanbags in a circle or opt for plastic chairs and floor cushions instead. If you want to create a bonfire vibe, a smart idea would be using the logs as seats for your guests. Make sure everyone is seated at a little bit of distance from the fire because you really don’t want the fumes going into your eyes or down your throat. Set up a trolley on the side with basics such as water, marshmallows, chips and other snacks.

    3.Lighting and music

Good lighting and calming music provide for a wholesome experience, especially for a winter bonfire night. Play your favourite tunes, those that not only give off good vibes but make you want to dance the night away even without a dance floor! If that happens, it means you have managed to set up a smashing get together and your friends will definitely be calling you up next weekend for a repeat of the same plan. As far as lighting is concerned, we suggest dim lanterns, glow-in-the-dark lamps or fairy lights all the way!
