Iffat Omar Shares The Infamous Hug With Rahat Kazmi

Former Pakistani supermodel Iffat Omar faced the wrath of netizens last week when an old video of her resurfaced on the internet. In an earlier episode of her talk show ‘Say It All With Iffat Omar’, she made a shocking revelation while chatting with her guest stars Ali Rehman and Hareem Farooq. Omar confessed to Rahat Kazmi being her first crush back in the day. But according to social media users, the problem lied in the way she spoke about the veteran actor! In the short snippet, Omar can be heard talking about how she would try to grab Kazmi’s attention while they were working together on Nangay Paon. In light of this, many users came forward to call Omar a fake supporter of the #MeToo movement.

Omar has now responded to the hate by posting a throwback video of the infamous hug between her and Kazmi while shooting for the play. While speaking to Rehman and Farooq, Omar claimed that she would intentionally opt for retakes so that she was able to enact the “hugging” scene over and over again. She not only posted the still from Nangay Paon but also captioned it with, “An innocent hug which is being misinterpreted.”

Earlier, Omar was also called out for not practicing what she preaches. A Twitter user had posted, “They cited the example of her being a vocal supporter of Meesha Shafi when she came out with harassment allegations against singer Ali Zafar. Phir baad Mein ghalat touch hoga feel hogya tu #MeToo k piche bhagengi! Same what Meesha Shafi did and she’s the biggest supporter of Meesha. Till now still she blames Ali for harassing with 0 facts.” Another added, “Reverse the gender and see the outrage.” Journalist and motivational speaker Maleeha Hashmey also expressed grave disappointment in Omar. She wrote, “Remember how Iffat ridiculed me for “exposing” Aurat March and now she’s exposing the MISUSE of the #MeToo movement herself.”
