Many eyebrows were raised when Yasir Hussain went down on one knee and proposed to the love of his life Iqra Aziz at the Lux Style Awards in July last year. Most fans questioned the 13-year age gap between them and the fact that the then 22-year-old Iqra was at the peak of her showbiz career. Unfettered by any outsider opinion, the love birds tied the knot in a ceremony attended by close friends, industry insiders and family members on December 28, 2019. Today, they are one of the most followed celebrity couples on social media and their crackling chemistry has garnered them the love and affection of fans world over. From cheering each other on to uploading the most aww-dorable snaps, they are one of the most sought-after pairings in Pakistani entertainment.
After tying the knot with Yasir, the Suno Chanda star took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “Being married someday is going to be beautiful, like imagine you coming home to your best friend every single day and just do life together until you grow old.” She went on to say, “I am loving every second of this new life”. Fast forward one year and it seems like their love is growing with each passing day (their Instagram handles are proof)!

A small example is when Yasir received flak for criticizing Turkish actor Esra Bilgiç for appearing in Pakistani advertisements. Iqra shut down netizens as she instantly jumped to her husband’s rescue, adding, “Everyone has an opinion and they have the freedom to share that.” Which man wouldn’t be happy with a wifey like that? The couple seems to have a great understanding and level of trust – two important aspects for a successful marriage. When they made an appearance on Reema Khan’s Ramadan transmission earlier this year, Yasir also weighed in on starting a family with Iqra. He said, “We both like children but we are not planning kids anytime soon as I think Iqra needs to focus on her career. When your career is flourishing, this is an extra responsibility.”
