A leading starlet in Pakistan, she has often revealed in her interviews that the Bollywood industry was never on the cards for her until she bagged a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Yes, you had to have figured it out by now! None other than Mahira Khan, the A-lister beauty forayed into Indian cinema with a lead role in the Rahul Dholakia-helmed, 2017 film Raees. From making waves in B-town to holding her own at the Cannes Film Festivals, where she crossed paths with multiple Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities, Mahira has greatly contributed to putting Pakistani showbiz on the world map through her mind-blowing acting performances, swoon-worthy red carpet looks and charming personality.
While escalating tensions between Pakistan and India did not permit Mahira to promote Raees in either of the two countries, she still holds the memories while shooting for the project close to her heart, as well as her interactions with the people she met along the way, from makeup artists and stylists to fellow actors. She added, “He used to tell me to do things this way, do it that way. At one point I asked him, am I not doing it right? He said ‘Look I am only telling you what I know, from my experience. You do it your way but all I want is when you see yourself on screen you don’t come to me and say, why didn’t you tell me!’ We’ve had amazing conversations.
