Indian filmmaker says Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt ‘perfect’ for Titanic remake

It seems that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are not just the perfect couple in real life, but could also make the perfect couple on screen. Indian filmmaker Sanjay Gupta may have found his Jack and Rose in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt it seems. The filmmaker, who is also the director of Kaante, recently shared that if the iconic Hollywood classic, Titanic were to get a Hindi remake, the perfect choice for the leads would be none other than Ranbir and Alia.

Sanjay Gupta recently responded to a rapid-fire session during an interview with a leading Indian daily, during which he was asked who he would hire for Hollywood hit remakes in Bollywood. When he was asked who he would cast in a Titanic remake she said Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Further, for Quentin Tarantino’s popular film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, he said he would cast John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi.

Continuing the rapid-fire session, Gupta said he would rope in Deepika Padukone in Kill Bill and Raveer Singh would portray Joaquin Phoenix amicably in a Joker remake. It is pertinent to note that one of Gupta’s biggest hits, Kaante, was inspired by Hollywood film Reservoir Dogs. Discussing the film he said, ‘’Kaante’ was inspired by ‘Reservoir Dogs’ but Tarantino has himself confessed that it’s a much better version than ‘Reservoir Dogs’. To confess one thing, I still haven’t seen the whole of ‘Reservoir Dogs’. Every time I used to watch it, I used to get bored as they were just talking and back then they didn’t even have subtitles in the film so I never really enjoyed it,” he said, adding that, “But I liked the idea that there are these 6 guys, who come together in a foreign country and they plot a perfect heist which is successful but the undoing becomes when one of them turns out to be a cop.”
