It has been a year since the first Covid-19 case was reported in Wuhan, China. With no signs of slowing down anytime soon, the coronavirus pandemic has spread like wildfire across the world, leading to the shutting down of businesses and recreational activities as well as educational institutions. Several social media users take to different platforms including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to post about the epidemic every day, ranging from serious posts about the number of cases in different countries to light-hearted memes related to being stuck within our homes and having nothing to do. The latest post to have grabbed eyeballs on the micro-blogging platform was posted by a business editor and user named Rao.

He uploaded an image of a group of students from an unknown school coming together to make the words, ‘STOP COVID 19’. While it appears to be quite picturesque, it certainly was not a great idea at all. And some Twitter users cannot get over the irony in the picture! The students can be seen standing in close proximity to each other while not practicing social distancing. “Covid has decided to STOP cause some random school kids asked it to,” read a reaction. “This just in! The pandemic is officially over.”

Another user questioned, “And you ask why don’t we produce scientists?” A similar post read, “This is beyond science.” Others made jokes about how Covid-19 has ended because the students said so. “Covid has left the chat,” posted a user. “Irony just contracted Covid,” wrote journalist Mahwash Ajaz. “Stop Covid by making a group and holding hands. Yeah, why not?” read another sarcastic comment. Following suit, another post read, “Omg it worked!” LOL! Commenting on the ironic situation, a user penned, “Controlling weight gain by ONLY eating Zingers.” A user remarked, “Bro, they aren’t even at the appropriate distance,” while another posted, “I feel vaccinated now.” But the reaction that stole the show was, “Ooo look Covid gets to travel in a fun pattern!!” What are your thoughts on the picture?
