Ishq Murshid Episode 11: Shahmeer’s String Of Lies Begin To Backfire

Without a doubt, “Ishq Murshid” has been winning over Pakistani drama audiences each week with its sweet, breezy tale of love, regardless of how unrealistic it may be.  “Ishq Murshid” has been a feel-good romantic show up until now, Shahmeer’s love for Shibra placing him in the most comical of situations.  While the narrative may not necessarily be one we can connect to in reality, it’s incredibly sweet to watch play out on screen.  However, in episode 11, the story seems to slowly be inching towards darkness – something which we tend to expect from a Farooq Rind show.  Starring Bilal Abbas Khan, Durr E Fishan Saleem, Omair Rana, Noor Ul Hassan, Salma Hassan, Srha Asghar and others, the show has been written by Abdul Khaliq Khan and directed by Farooq Rind.

In episode 11, Fazal Baksh (Bilal Abbas Khan) and Shibra’s (Durr E Fishan Saleem) relationship continues to grow, the two developing a sweet, flirtatious bond, but also one where Shibra tends to rely on Fazal Baksh as well.  Of course, “Fazal Baksh” is over the moon with these developments and takes full advantage of living under the same roof as his love – however, in his reality, things are taking a turn for the worst.  Ibrahim (Omair Rana) has begun to feel things are amiss with Shahmeer and has been doing a bit of digging to figure out why Shahmeer is lying – but about what?  Ibrahim isn’t sure of that part.  Ultimately, in a party, Shahmeer’s engagement is announced to Mehreen (Hira Tareen) and, needless to say, Shahmeer’s web of lies only grows.  He states that he relies on a peer for everything and must ask this spiritual guide before making a decision about his marriage.  This may have bought him some more time, but his father is not convinced – nor will this help Shahmeer’s situation, balancing the two very different roles he’s currently playing.

Bilal Abbas Khan, once again, continues to be the star of the show.  He is simply excellent as Shahmeer and Fazal Baksh, performing everything from intensity to humor.  However, with episode 11, Durr E Fishan Saleem is also given room to further perform – and looks beautiful doing so.  While the love story between Fazal Baksh and Shibra is incredibly beautiful, there’s an impending sense of dread connected with how this love story will unravel.  Shahmeer has done a lot for his love, but the fact remains that he’s lying to everyone in his life from Shibra to his father to Mehreen.  How will he be able to manage this situation in the end?  “Ishq Murshid” continues to be an engrossing, entertaining watch with a beautiful love story, but we fear it will soon turn to tragedy!
