Ishq Murshid Episode 14: Durr E Fishan Saleem’s Shibra Learns A Hard Lesson This Week

At present, the story of “Ishq Murshid” is at a crucial point.  This love story under false identity has won the hearts of Pakistani audiences – and even those outside of Pakistan – with its sweet and simple romance with a hint of deceit.  Starring Bilal Abbas Khan and Durr E Fishan Saleem in lead roles, the supporting cast includes Omair Rana, Noor Ul Hassan, Salma Hassan, Srha Asghar and others, the story has been written by Abdul Khaliq Khan and directed by Farooq Rind.

In episode 14, Salman (Noor Ul Hassan) visits Dawood (Omair Rana) to plead for Shibra’s (Durr E Fishan Saleem) release, knowing he will have to grovel and plead.  There’s a past between Salman and Dawood that has not yet been revealed, other than Salman leaving the party after Zubaida’s demise.  Is it possible that Salman accused Dawood of murdering Zubaida – and the truth of the accusation triggered Dawood?  Regardless of what Salman did, Dawood is bitter and ready to wield his power over him through his daughter.  Fortunately, Shahmir (Bilal Abbas Khan) arrives right in time to stop Salman, sending him home over the phone – and convincing Dawood to release Shibra without letting on his connection to her.  Shahmir, despite how frivolously he’s handling his love life, has all indications of being an excellent politician with the ability to convince anyone to do his bidding.  Shibra and Salman, however, see him as a Godly man, a man who only brings good with him with the power of prayer.  Will they still see the good in him when his reality is revealed?

Shahmir has allowed his heart to dictate his actions, but he has not thought his actions through.  And yet, his actions are proving that if and when he does become a politician, he will be the spitting image of his mother – a kind-hearted, hardworking individual working for the people.  We can see all these indications in how he interacts with those around him, not particularly fond of those in his circles and generous hearted towards those who need his compassion.  Shibra is now in love with “Fazal Baksh” and now that Shahmir has accomplished what he desired and is ready to confess….will this romance hold once she realizes who Fazal Baksh is?

Bilal Abbas Khan is the highlight of “Ishq Murshid,” effortlessly moving between Shahmir and Fazal Baksh and it seems as though he’s thoroughly enjoying playing the characters as well.  This week, Durr E Fishan Saleem also steals the show as Shibra realizes her actions could get her in greater trouble than she ever realized.  Shibra has been raised by Salman to be an idealist, someone who believes honestly and righteousness will always win – but that’s not the truth in the world we live in and being arrested serves as a hard lesson for Shibra and Salman.  Noor Ul Hassan is also excellent this week.  “Ishq Murshid” is inching towards a dramatic point and while things could take an ugly turn, we are enjoying every minute of the journey there.
