Cricket fans have long awaited the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final game ever since the playoff matches of the tournament were postponed earlier this year following the coronavirus outbreak. Yesterday’s semifinal witnessed Lahore Qalandars defeating Multan Sultans by 25 runs to reach the last stage of the contest, with David Wiese emerging victorious as the player of the match. The team is now all set for the face off against Karachi Kings on November 17, 2020. Neither of the sides have ever won a PSL championship in the past. Besides this, a clash between two of Pakistan’s biggest cities – Karachi and Lahore – would be epic, according to Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman, Wasim Khan.
“There are some rivalries in sports world wide, just like Manchester United vs Manchester City; the Karachi vs Lahore encounter isn’t any different. Both are playing the final for the first time and I am sure it will be a magnificent event. Everyone in Karachi, Lahore and rest of Pakistan will be waiting,” he said. “Be it Karachi or Lahore, it should be a good contest.” And Twitter users feel the same!
