Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 10: Taimur Is Mahi’s Perfect Match….But Is He What Mahi Wants?

“Khuda Aur Mohabbat” is that show which delivers 40 minutes of pure entertainment week after week. Whether it’s the sets, the costumes, the music, the acting, the cinematography or the heart-felt dialogues, this is a “perfect package.” Written by Hashim Nadeem Khan and directed by Syed Wahajat Hussain, this drama stars Feroze Khan, Iqra Aziz, Junaid Khan, Mirza Zain Baig, Sunita Marshal, Shaheen Khan, Saqib Sumeer, Sohail Sameer, Usman Peerzada, Rubina Ashraf and others in prominent roles. With Mahi and Taimur’s engagement now final, Farhad is headed down a slow spiral.

In episode 10, we see Farhad (Feroze Khan) being released from the hospital, having healed from the gunshot wounds, with Dilawar (Saqib Sumeer) loyally by his side. The two men have formed a strong bond by now and Dilawar appears to be genuinely concerned for Farhad’s well-being, encouraging the young man to return home. However, Farhad’s heart is in disarray and he is unable to bring himself out of his depression, unwilling to believe that Mahi would “betray” him like this by not accepting his love. Later, Fakira visits Farhad on Mahi’s orders and kindly talks to the young man, telling him about the tragedy of losing her son to this service and requesting him to leave. However, Farhad is adamant that he will not leave until Mahi meets him face-to-face and tells him that she doesn’t love him. A round of applause must be given to Fakira for being the voice of the audience as she tells him that Mahi has accepted his love is true and pure, but he should leave like a winner instead of sticking around for a love he cannot attain. Farhad, at this point, is a frustrating character. Feroze Khan is doing a wonderful job of portraying him and making the audience feel for him as he plays this man overcome by grief at the loss of his love. But is his behavior justified? Everyone around him is encouraging him to go home, including Mahi after telling him she’s simply not interested – but he refuses to believe it. Now, not only is Farhad hurting himself and his family, but he’s also torturing Mahi by piling on the guilt.

Taimur (Mirza Zain Baig) comes to visit the family and proves to be the perfect match for Mahi (Iqra Aziz). Open-minded, mentally removed from the landlord attitude and planning to move to America after marriage, he’s more than happy hearing that Mahi wants to pursue her further education. Hearing her family’s praises and seeing Taimur (from a distance), Mahi is beginning to feel happiness with the match – but then she spots Farhad. Farhad’s shadow looms heavy over Mahi’s life. While it initially appeared to be guilt and empathy, it’s starting to look like Mahi has genuine feelings for Farhad as well. Is this love as one-sided as it appears to be or has Farhad been right all along? Does Mahi love him? And if so, is her marriage to Taimur setting both Mahi and Farhad up for misery?

Dunk Episode 17: Haider and Minal’s Marriage Faces Disapproval

Iqra Aziz is wonderful as Mahi in this episode as Mahi grapples with several feelings all at once. Should she be happy about her upcoming marriage to a suitable man? Or should she mourn the death of a romance that never even began? And now with Dilawar aware of Mahi and Farhad’s past and Farhad’s purpose for being there, will he support Farhad? Or will he, the loyal worker of this family, force Farhad’s hand at leaving? The writing, the direction and the performances in “Khuda Aur Mohabbat” continue to impress in each episode.
