Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 28: Mahi Is Troubled By Farhad’s Return

The buzz around “Khuda Aur Mohabbat” due to the previous seasons, along with the brilliant OST and promising star cast pulled in viewers immediately, elevating “Khuda Aur Mohabbat” (3) to grand heights. But has this drama managed to maintain expectations and quality throughout its run? The simple answer is…..no. Starring Feroze Khan, Iqra Aziz, Junaid Khan, Tooba Siddiqui, Hina Bayat, Sunita Marshall and many others, the story has been written by Hashim Nadeem Khan and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain.

In episode 28, we see Farhad (Feroze Khan) and Mahi (Iqra Aziz) come face to face once again when Farhad arrives at Mahi’s house. Maa ji (Hina Bayat) is unaware of the connection between the two and is confused when Farhad leaves in a hurry after seeing Mahi. Meanwhile, Maa Ji and Mahi’s mother discuss Mahi’s future and the possibility of Sikandar (Junaid Khan) and Mahi’s marriage.

The entire story of “Khuda Aur Mohabbat” revolves around this “crime” Mahi has committed by rejecting Farhad. In this episode, we begin to see Farhad’s guilt, thinking over the curse he gave Mahi and how his words ruined her life. The scenes centered on Farhad are not particularly enjoyable for two seasons – one, Noor Ul Hassan’s character consistently speaks in riddles, offering “advice” that’s supposed to be spiritual, but really…..it’s just jibberish. Farhad not only takes advice from this man, but he also confides in him – but what is he confiding? That he purposely pretended to be dead? For what reason – so Mahi would feel bad? Farhad hasn’t spared anyone emotional turmoil, but mostly, he has harmed his own family and this doesn’t make Farhad likable. It’s a different situation that Feroze Khan’s acting is so good that he makes Farhad easy to watch on-screen.

Coming back to Mahi, Mahi has endured a lot of turmoil because of Farhad and her fear of his curse. She believes Taimoor passed away because of his curse. However, every time something good happens to Mahi, something bad happens. Just as talk of Sikandar and Mahi’s marriage began, Farhad came in front of her. Add to her confusion about Farhad, Mahi has also sent away Romana (Tooba Siddiqui), an action that will come back to haunt Mahi later. How will Sikandar react when he finds out what Mahi did?

The bottom line is that it has been 28 episodes and there is neither “Khuda” nor “Mohabbat” in this story. Where is this story headed? What is the point? What is the message this drama is trying to send out? While the show may be bringing in views, the content is weak. The performances are the only thing holding this show up.
