Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 33: Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz’s Mahi Share a Moment

“Khuda Aur Mohabbat” is a show that has been inching towards its end in slow motion with heavy dialogues and a somewhat troubling love story. Starring Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz in lead roles, the story has been written by Hashim Nadeem Khan and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain. While the story has been slow for the past several episodes, it picks up greatly with episode 33, which has opened the doors for a catch-up session.

In episode 33, Farhad (Feroze Khan) and Mahi (Iqra Aziz) share a heartfelt discussion with the help of Sahiba (Sunita Marshal). Meeting at the dargah, Mahi’s confession scene to Farhad is a genuinely beautiful moment. As unexpected as it is to viewers, it also comes unexpected to Farhad, realizing that Mahi does have feelings for him after all. This one-sided romance is now two-sided and Mahi has finally given in to acknowledging the love she has for Farhad buried in her heart. Farhad’s eyes fill up as Mahi declares that she’ll meet him in her afterlife. Both Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz are such brilliant actors and it’s their performances that lift this scene to high standards. Of course, there are many ears on this conversation – Romana’s (Tooba Siddiqui) being one, but those of the enemy as well.

Romana and Mahi’s scene is a beautiful one of understanding and acceptance, where Romana realizes that despite Mahi’s high stature, the two women are bound in the same societal constraints. It’s their love and sacrifice that has brought them to this point, not their financial status. On the other end, Nazim is now aware of Mahi and Farhad’s backstory and is furious.

While we’ve already known that Mahi’s family is on a different level of insane, this episode reveals that it’s not only Nazim (Sohail Sameer) who is imbalanced. Her father and mother are also deeply troubled in their thinking. Kazim (Usman Peerzada) openly taunts his wife for her upbringing of Mahi, placing blame on Mahi’s actions on the mother of a grown woman. Not once does he think that despite his bodyguards and the unreasonable security in his house, this still took place – so why isn’t he to blame? And quite honestly, what is the crime here? A young man fell for Mahi and she gradually grew to reciprocate due to his undying attention. It’s tragic that Mahi’s own family is her greatest enemy, first being responsible for the death of her first husband, then getting her engaged for their own political gain to Sikandar and now, blaming her simply for having feelings.

“Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3” has been on a decline in the past several episodes, but with episode 33, it does take leaps forward, finally moving storyline wise. How will Mahi and Farhad’s love story play out from this point onward? It’s already clear that tragedy is in store for this couple. While their love story has been fairly problematic throughout the duration of the show, this pair has become more root-worthy now that it’s a mutual affection – and of course, Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz are so beautiful together, it’s difficult to do anything but root for them. Can they be signed together for a more light-hearted show, please?
