Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 6: Farhad Finds Himself In A Different Environment

“Khuda Aur Mohabbat” is a show that’s pulling in viewers not only in Pakistan, but all over the globe, raking in viewership. This tragic love story has yet to reach its tragic moment, giving viewers great character-building scenes instead as Farhad and Mahi’s relationship is established. The show has been written by Hashim Nadeem Khan, directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain and stars Feroze Khan, Iqra Aziz, Junaid Khan, Mirza Zain Baig, Sunita Marshal, Javed Sheikh, Seemi Pasha, Waseem Abbas, Tooba Siddiqui, Momina Iqbal and several others. With Farhad now in Bahawalpur, working for Mahi’s family, will Farhad be able to confess his feelings for Mahi?

Most of episode 6 focuses on the new environment Farhad (Feroze Khan) finds himself in now that he has arrived in Bahawalpur. In training to be the family’s new driver, Farhad realizes quickly that the fun-loving, open environment that he grew accustomed to in Rida’s (Meherbano) home is not the sort of environment Mahi (Iqra Aziz) comes from. Rather, women in Mahi’s family remain veiled from the male gaze, not even to be seen by the (male) household help – other than Noora, the household’s eldest member of staff. We are taken inside Mahi’s home where viewers become further aware of the restrictions placed on the women of the household as dinnertime conversation turns to Mahi’s desire to pursue her higher education in London. Nazim (Sohail Sameer), her brother, puts this discussion to a stop, making it clear that she can only continue studying after marriage if her future husband allows it. Oddly, it seems as though Kazim (Usman Peerzada) wants to support Mahi’s education, but is unable to speak against Nazim and even his wife (Rubina Ashraf). Mahi’s life seems to be dictated to her and she is expected to live by the rules of others. It’s no wonder then that when she visited for Lahore for Rida’s wedding, she allowed herself to get carried away flirting with Farhad. This was a small taste of freedom where she could enjoy herself away from her family’s watchful eye.

Considering his new restrictive environment and all the rules thrust upon him, Farhad appears to be handling things rather well, truly showing patience in his quest to meet Mahi. Farhad meets Sajjal (Shameen Khan), the “in charge” of the staff, and the two share a few cute, light-hearted moments. Back in Lahore, Naheed (Momina Iqbal) is seen mourning over Farhad’s absence, missing his presence. Isn’t it interesting that Farhad has so many sweet, kind-hearted women pining over him and yet, he’s fixated on Mahi, a woman who won’t even pay him any attention? She’s also, of course, very much out of his league. Feroze shares chemistry with almost every actress he works with though and Shameen Khan is no less as their scenes bring a smile to one’s face.

Farhad finally finds himself driving Mahi to college, accompanied by Noora of course, and is happy just to be in her presence again. Mahi, on her part, realizes through stolen glances that it is Farhad driving the car and she is later seen worrying about what impact this will have on her life now. Like previously discussed, Mahi was simply enjoying her freedom and having fun and she didn’t expect to ever meet Farhad again – essentially, “What happens in Lahore stays in Lahore.” However, now with Farhad in Bahawalpur, Mahi is not the only one left worrying. Sahiba (Sunita Marshal) and Fakira are also left horrified after Fakira spots Farhad behind the wheel of the car and the women plot on how to get Farhad off the premises, as he will be killed if his intentions are discovered.

Pehli Si Muhabbat Episode 9: Nargis Comes To Rakshi’s Rescue

“Khuda Aur Mohabbat” is exactly what Pakistani drama viewers want entertainment-wise. This is a grand love story with dazzling visuals, scenes depicting Pakistan’s cultural sites, beautiful clothing, great music – it’s ideal. Add to that the wonderful star cast and performances. Feroze Khan is, of course, the heart and soul of the show and is doing really well with the light-hearted scenes so far (we all know intensity is his forte). Of course, we are all aware that tragedy is in store, but if it’s handled well, even that can be engrossing. Of course, that tragedy is headed Farhad’s way as Taimur (Mirza Zain Baig) is now prepared to send a proposal Mahi’s way – a proposal that’s sure to be met happily by Mahi’s family. “Khuda Aur Mohabbat” is one such show that would be called a must-watch for all Pakistani drama viewers.
