Live Concerts and Events to Return to Dubai Soon

Dubai Government has recently issued a circular stating that live concerts and events such as weddings, seminars, exhibitions, conferences, product launches, brand sales, graduations, award ceremonies, etc. can be held in the city but organisers and attendees need to follow strict health and safety guidelines at all times. Nightclubs and city promotions have not been included in the list of events now allowed to run in the emirate.

Online sale of tickets has been recommended for all events. Indoor events are permitted to run with limited capacity as each attendee needs to maintain a distance of four metres from others. Concerts with seating need to have two vacant seats between groups and solo attendees, even in the VIP sections.

For concerts where the audience is standing, clear floor markings are required to help people maintain social distance, and only one group at a time is to be allowed to enter and exit the venue.

Guests are required to wear face masks throughout the shows while performers can remove their masks if they are at a four-metre distance from the audience.

In the case of weddings, each table needs to be set up for a maximum of four guests (or up to 10 if the guests belong to the same group) and the tables have to be placed at least two metres apart. Guests need to avoid physical proximity throughout the ceremony even during photography sessions. The wedding venue operator is required to check and sanitise gifts for the newly-weds. In the case of wedding lunch or dinner, pre-packaged food or buffet is allowed, and the food should be served with disposable plates and cutlery.

All event venues need to be sanitised after every 30 minutes if more than 25 people are attending the event and every hour if there are less than 25 people. The venues also need to be sanitised at the end of each event and at the end of each day
