Lollywood Veteran Zeba Begum In Hospital Following Health Complications

If there is one yesteryear Lollywood couple who introduced us to the most glamourous world of films, it has to be Zeba Begum and the late Mohommad Ali. Their on-screen chemistry was as sizzling as their real-life marriage; unmatched and unparalleled and to say the least. The duo wowed fans with their multiple hits together, delivering superb performances in hits such as Insan Aur Aadmi, Insaf Aur Qanoon and Tum Miley Pyar Mila. Ali passed away in 2006, being survived by Zeba Begum. Now, according to latest reports, she too seems to be deteriorating in terms of her health. The almost 75-year-old was admitted in a private hospital in Rawalpindi this week.

Zeba was reportedly suffering from chest pains and cardiac issues for which she is currently undergoing treatment. A source close to the family confirmed she is doing relatively better now. Real name Shaheen Bano, the film-screen beauty became popular as the iconic Zeba Begum during her heydays.

With a career spanning 23 years, she won the Nigar Award three times and was also the recipient of the millennium award in 1999, eventually making her last film appearance in 1989. Having featured in close to 94 films as the male lead, Ali worked with almost all leading actresses of his time. He married Zeba four years after meeting her for the first time in 1962. The two crossed paths during the filming of their debut blockbuster, Chirag Jalta Raha. The couple became known as Ali Zeb. While talking to The Express Tribune in an earlier interview, Zeba revealed she misses her husband every day. She had said, “I’m not complete without Ali. He was a good husband, a great father and a good friend.”
