London court told Johnny Depp was a “deep misogynist”

Johnny Depp’s libel trial against a British tabloid continues in a London court and is now nearing its end. In recent remarks, the London court heard that Johnny Depp was a drug addict prone to violent rages as well as a misogynist who assaulted his wife and used abusive language about women. The 57-year-old, Pirates of The Caribbean actor is suing News Group Newspapers, publishers of The Sun, and one of its journalists, Dan Wootton, over a 2018 article that called him a “wife beater”.

Both Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, 34 have given evidence in this trial. During the trial, Depp ascertained that he was never violent towards Heard or any other woman and it was she who attacked him. Heard told the court about a number of incidents in which she  said she was assaulted by him. Johnny Depp was also described by lawyers as a “hopeless addict”. In an email by Amber Heard and sent to herself in 2013, it was written, “You have hit me repeatedly. something you should Never have done … And None of this would be possible without the booze and drugs. NONE.”

In another text sent to Depp from Amber Heard in 2014, she wrote, “I am scared, Johnny, so scared, I watch as this thing steals my life out from under me. He steals my man from me and replaces him with something terrifying and unrecognisable.” Her lawyer also accused Depp of “deep misogyny” after citing words from a number of texts and emails. Johnny Depp was quoted as using inappropriate words to describe Heard as well as other women. Texts that were sent to actor Paul Bettany spoke of drowning and burning Heard.

We wonder what the outcome of this libel case may be.
