Madam Noor Jehan’s Granddaughter Natasha Recreates Her Signature Look On 20th Death Anniversary

Madam Noor Jehan still lives on in the hearts of her fans, colleagues and family members. While artists around the globe fondly remembered the ‘Malika-e-Tarannum’ on her 20th death anniversary yesterday, her granddaughter and makeup artist Natasha Ali Lakhani paid an equally heartwarming tribute to her late grandmother, a timeless icon. Taking to Instagram, she recreated one of the Melody Queen’s look on herself. Clad in a silk white sari, diamond jewellery, a bun with a flower on the side and Noor Jehan’s signature eyeliner and mole, Natasha did complete justice to the look. She captioned the clip, “Over the years I’ve seen countless recreations of my Nano’s look. Everyone does it because they love her but each time, I’ve seen one I hear her voice in my ears to do one that is close to home.”

Natasha continued, “The only time anyone in the family dressed up as her was my Mama for an absolutely amazing war song recreation directed by Shaan. That was just breathtaking and this was me paying homage to the woman who I looked up to as a little girl and hoped to look like her one day. I’ve always been shy of it because no one can match her charisma but this year on her 20th anniversary I feel it’s befitting.” Writing about what she had in mind before recreating the look, Natasha shared, “I didn’t want it to look costumey or over the top but instead capture an ounce of her essence that she’s sprinkled in all of her children & grandchildren. This shall always remain to be a cherished memory.” The video featured Noor Jehan’s famous song Dil Dhadakne ka Sabab.

This morning, Natasha once again shared a note on Instagram, thanking fans for the love they have showered on her family for years. “Can’t believe the amount of love that you all have showered over the interview with my mama and khalas, and over the recreation that I did of my Nano, the irreplaceable Noor Jehan. What I loved most was the amount of people who thought of her, prayed for her and just sat with their families to talk about her yesterday. And that you all always do and always shall. Sharing the high-definition pictures of the finished look of my recreation and you can watch the full breakdown of the recreation on @mashionpk,” Natasha penned.
